Fair Ones 03:47
To a shining golden lake-wood, Have I journeyed for a time And though zealous were its people, So were its great halls sublime. Through oak forest and green briar Have I made my merry way Winking back at shadowed sunlight, Wishing I could ever stay. In a fen of mist and flowers Have I dallied for a day Calling back to frogs and crickets, Calling fishers out to play. Near a hundred stony ruins Have I seen in but a year, Yet, for every bailey's downfall Could I shed a rueful tear. Among quiet marble cloisters Have I passed a happy hour, In serene and knowing labyrinths, In a many-window'd tower. To the grim and looming towers Of a city grey as gloom Have I been astounded witness, As the streets of magic bloom. Under thrall of roaring thunder, Blinking hot rain from my eyes, Have I seen the lightning turn Each drop to diamond in the skies. Far away, beneath the surface Of the green and rambling ground Have I marveled in deep darkness At its vast and silent sound. I have traveled many places, Far away and near to home And the ones that still surprise me are the rare ones. Of the places that I've traveled, Home will beckon most of all, And yet it seems a shame to leave the fair ones.

Ride 02:39
Ride! Bring your comrades here and gather all your kith and your kin! Send the call out to mother and father and child. Ride! Bring your enemies and allies of your cause, bring them in From the ends of the earth, come from city and the wild And call leaders and followers and all their blood Bring the rich and the poor and the high and the low Send for lovers and fighters, the path shall be flooded With crowds on their course, everyone that you know! Come to the gathering, The time is now, one and all The time for everything And more, so send out the call. Ride! Send for everyone, the time is short, the distance is far Go to mountain and river and forest and plain. Ride! Bring them any way you can, bring them in peace or at war Brave the heat and the sun, or the wind and the rain.

Worry Song 02:05
The lark in the sky will chatter at the jay The cat in the hall may wake another day The cow in the barn can eat her fill of hay The dog in the yard will frolic if he may But who’ll banish all my cares away? The ox at the toll has not a coin to pay The fish in the sea might gambol in the spray The sun in the sky lets down a shining ray The lamb in the field will totter in his play But who’ll banish all my cares away? The horse on the road can whicker, snort or neigh The stone-stubborn donkey bellows out a bray The peacock may fan his tail in fine array The rooster is king of all he might survey But who’ll banish all my cares away? The cloud up on high shows silver, white or grey The end of the spring will come in June or May The wheel of the potter gathers all the clay The friend takes his leave with little left to say But who’ll banish all my cares away? The end of the hem will soon begin to fray The welcome will fade if I might only stay The leaves fall to earth and hasten their decay The death comes to all tomorrow or today But who’ll banish all my cares away?

Wedding Song 01:19
Howl and shout Let all pens write down They are joined together! This one and that one Their hearts desire To press two into one Eye to eye They are true Spirits like the wind and sun Sing a new feat of heart-song Bind them together, blessed This one and that one

A Certainty 00:45
The kinder his words, the sharper his wit, The quicker his hands, the brighter my flame is lit. The more he reveals, the warmer his arms, The deeper he feels, the greater I find his charms. The straighter his gaze, the sweeter his eyes, The fonder his glance, the higher my heart will rise. The longer he stays, the harder I fall. The better he plays, the more he gives life his all. The harder their blows, the gentler his touch. The more hurt he shows, the surer his step. As much As I feel his pain, he hides it awhile. The more I suspect, the instant he makes me smile. So perfect is he, I know that, again, The more I love him, the more certain he likes men.

How Strange 01:49
How strange, how strange a song That flies within my heart: A fiery, icy tune In which I have no part, No instrument to play. It burns when I am here, But freezes when I leave. The sting is hard to bear; Its purpose, to bereave At night and in the day. Alas. No cure is known For this feverish plague: It bothers me alone, A fierce and painful ague That carries me away.

Road Song 01:32
The way is long and winding, the feet fair tired and sore, The road's end never finding, for roads have ends no more, But go you ever forward and see what lies there in store: For what you find before you is what you have found before.

Green Hazel 02:18
O gather green hazel from under the tree The taste of the nut is a pleasure so dear And to lie in the shade of an afternoon free Is the sweetest of life any time of the year. O simmer green hazel, to make a strong brew And stir it so gently no drop splashes out Or tincture of hazel shall only stir you And all your fine plans pass you by with a shout. O turn the green hazel the thatch for to lay And set it in tight with a shove and a prod Thereby under the thatch all the better to play Such joy may we have of a green hazel rod. O garland green hazel for crowns in the spring Braid catkins in sunlight and deck ev'ry room So murmurs and songs from each valley shall ring: The springtime is coming, green hazel's in bloom! Tra la the green hazel I sing for to praise, So strong and so fair a green tree! Green hazel may bend any number of ways O bend the green hazel to me!

Alaiah 01:26
The lady of ice and black stone, of blue gems, The gilded dark lady with the moon in her eye: Her glance has a price. She may pierce with her fiery cold gaze, Her face a silver, cold star-stone. Ah! A fair, frosted torch, she will gather her nation's hearts And them charmed willingly from their breasts, But even if she treads carefully, they languish adoring her And wither, if she treats them coldly.

I care not for the pretty joys Of busy Bath, its ancient noise Or crescents grand and wide. But for those Theatre Royal there employs I loved that city more Than ever children loved their dearest toys. I lived a year in one fine day And learned a lifetime from one play With laughter, tears and sighs And one fine player heard what I would say With warm and gentle grace, Before the evening sent us all away. Oh, delight of a perfect day! I could not leave the day behind Nor put it from my happy mind And so I spent another At the same performance, there to find Again I came under the spell Of potent words said truly well And once more sought to speak With one whose skill onstage no man can tell, Who smiled with lively kindness And then crowned the day none could excel. He told me of a winding way Between the cows who champed their hay And down the valley floor Where River Avon fell in winsome spray And where the people went The waters there to wade in, swim and play Oh, delight of a perfect day! And so I took his cousel wise And took my leave with teary eyes And set forth for to find The cool and shaded weir, the final prize Of this day wound with wonders All was clear as I beheld the rise Through thistles I did gladly stray And nettles prickled through the clay I hardly paid them heed As they were soon behind me on my way And all was brightest bliss The words and water I cannot repay. Oh, delight of a perfect day!

Green grows a leaf on the fallen tree Green rise the grasses for all to see Green creeps the moss, green sways the reed Green sleeps the heart of every living, waiting seed Bright glow the leaves under lowering cloud As thunder speaks the light aloud Sweeping curtains wash the air anew And now each leaf wears jeweled crowns of glimm'ring dew Cool mist covers all the green in pearl Gilt and silver play in each curl Of rolling white as the gloaming comes And a crescent gleams as the dusk fades and the deep night hums Now rises all the golden light Searing out the lingering white Limning all the green in gold And showing radiance in each new leaf to unfold This noontide all the air is still The river's risen waters spill Past their banks with a dreaming song And the drowsing birds take flight from river's edge and sing along Green grows a leaf on the fallen tree Green rise the grasses for all to see Green creeps the moss, green sways the reed Green sleeps the heart of every living, waiting seed
